Elton John - The Captain And The Kid - 2006



Mais de vinte anos após o lançamento do álbum Captain Fantastic and the Dirty Brown Cowboy, de 1975, o músico Elton John lança um novo trabalho, continuação do material descrito.
O CD, batizado de The Captain and the Kid, mantém o registro autobiográfico do álbum, editado na década de 70, e conta mais uma vez com a colaboração do letrista Bernie Taupin.
A nova produção, que vem com o primeiro single homônimo ao álbum, chega às lojas no próximo dia 18 de setembro.
Para os fãs, agora é esperar a apresentação do novo trabalho ao vivo, que acontecerá no mês janeiro de 2007, no Rio de Janeiro.

Angel Theory: Re-Possession






A pasado más de un año desde que escuchamos un nuevo material del solo australiano Angel theory. Aunque creo, que su nuevo trabajo "Re-possession" no resulta tan original, sino que por el contrario Charles Fenech ha registrado en Re-Possession, tracks poco atractivos, quizá con alguna desmejoría de su anterior álbum. Re-Possession trae doce canciones, en la que destaca Black and Blue, con buenos beats up-tempo y que invita a la pistas de baile. Sin embargo, la mayor parte de las canciones tienen los mismos beats mid-tempo e incluso la canción que él hizo con Terrorfakt con beats industriales ásperos, no puede alcanzar un nivel superior. Influenciado claramente por Suicide Comando pero se hicieron éstos temás orientados más a las pistas de baile. No es un gran álbum pero vale la pena escucharlo y darnos una idea del camino seguido por Angel Theory.

The Crow - Banda Sonora







En primer lugar déjenme presentarme, soy Helcom y hace poco me he unido a las filas de Gothic Garden, mi especialización serán los Maxis, sé que ha muchos nos encantan coleccionarlos, pero eso será mas adelante, ahora quiero comenzar hablando de una película que marcó tendencia hacia lo dark y su misticismo taciturno a principios de la decada de los 90: 'The Crow' (Brandon Lee).
El Cuervo es una película que no solo capto la muerte real de su protagonista, sino la soledad y vengativísmo en que se enfrascan los que por alguna razón del destino tienen sus almas atormendas, así es como para darle más énfasis a esto, se procuro tener una banda sonora que concordara artísticamente con ello, listando a bandas representativas y de culto como: 'Nine Inch Nails', 'The Cure', 'Helmet', 'My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult', ' Violent Femmes', consiguiendo empaquetar un imprescindible album lleno de canciones que son capítulos de estados de animo, desde las que son el murmullo de una conciencia reveladora, traicionera y mundana, hasta las que de una forma abrupta encienden el hastío de lo desconcertante que es un mejor futuro en una cultura de decadencia, destacando así la participación de bandas influyentes como 'Pantera', 'Stone Temple Pilots', 'Rage Against The Machine', quienes se unieron para hacer tributo a esta hazaña.

Este clásico es mi primer imprescindible, un auténtico concentrado de oscuridad bruta. Para mí es el álbum más oscuro y violento de Bauhaus, con la voz convincente de un cantante tan carismático como Peter, que oscila entre la rabia, la desesperación (solo hace falta escuchar In the Flat Field o Double Dare para entenderlo) y la locura, con una calidad de melodias y atmósferas impresionantes.
En resumen, una pequeña joya oscura.

Lycia: Cold


Lycia posee un lugar especial en la escena darkwave. Esta disuelta agrupación introdujo desde sus inicios en los años 80´s retoques ambientales a su inicial estilo post-punk/darkwave, retoques que con el pasar del tiempo se fueron haciendo mas intensos y predominantes. Sus composiciones se caracterizan por ser bastante etéreas y envolventes, además de su simpleza y gran belleza.

El año 1996, Mike VanPortfleet y sus colaboradores (David Galas y Tara Vanflower en ese entonces), nos entregan “Cold”, un trabajo lleno de melodías místicas, de gran contenido emocional y detalles minimalistas, hermosas voces, pasajes de sintetizadores hipnotizantes, y guitarras ambientales.

Dos punto altos en este trabajo son los temas “Snowdrop”, una canción que sobresale por su simplicidad, dulzura melódica y profundos sintetizadores, y “Polaris”, una canción destacada por su contraste, la cual nos otorga atmósferas profundas, y por que no decirlo, abismales, enfrentadas a la suave voz de Tara Vanflower, como si se tratara de una lucha entre el bien y el mal.
Este es un disco que se debe disfrutar con mucha calma, ya que nos invita a viajar a otra dimensión, llena de paisajes fríos y eternos, atmósferas invernales y ensoñadoras, tal como su nombre nos lo señala.

Este es el disco mas oscuro y depresivo de esta banda.
Canciones como ‘A means To and End’,
’The Eternal’, una canción que te libera de tus frustaciones, hipnotizante, Ian en estado puro,
y como no, la última canción del disco, ‘Decades’, para mi , la mejor canción de Joy Division; que puedo decir de esta obra de arte, el Ian mas depresivo, mas alucinado y mas melancólico, en definitiva, la ultima canción del último disco, como si nos dejara su última nota también a nosotros.

Leng Tch'e - ManMadePredator (2003)



Now this is some mighty music... Leng Tch'e play a genre they call "RazorGrind". It's mostly grindcore, but has influences from death metal, southern rock, stoner, old hard rock, and maybe some punk influences. The lyrics aren't those typical grindcore lyrics about mutilation, sexual perversion and things like that, but about people, real life stories that happened to the band mebmbers, and the lyrics have a hint that makes the them positive. I prefer the latest Leng Tch'e album, "The Process Of Elimination", but this is also a very good one.
