Nicole Scherzinger - Steam [The Caf And Saf Old School Remix]

This song is crazy! It's a remix to Nicole's first single off her upcoming album, rumored to be titled "His Afrodisiac". This remix doesn't really change a lot about the song, but it makes it sound so much better. Credit for both the song and cover art go to EtienneEvolution.

Black Eyed Peas - My Humps / Pump It [DJ Motiv8 Remixes]

Just found some new BEP remixes, and they sound pretty cool! Finally, some new Black Eyed Peas material to listen to! Sadly though, this might be the last BEP post for a while because their new album comes out sometime in 2007...it'll be Fergie, Fergie, Fergie until then.

Diddy [ft. Nicole Scherzinger & The Notorious B.I.G.] - Come To Me [Remix]

A remix of Diddy's first single from Press Play...nothin' new, just added Biggie verses.

Download: Come To Me [Remix]

Snoop Dogg [ft. B-Real] - Vato

Here's Snoop's first single off his new album The Blue Carpet Treatment. Produced by the Neptunes, it's pretty cool.

Christina Aguilera - Without You

A newly leaked song off Xtina's upcoming album, Back To Basics. This high quality track really shows how great a singer she is! Thanks for the song, Jamie.

Janet Jackson [ft. Nelly] - Call On Me [Lil Jon Remix]

Aah, finally! I've been waiting for someone to remix this song, cuz frankly, Call On Me was getting old, quick. This is a really nice remix by Lil Jon; very crunky!

Massari - Real Love / Thinking Of You

Someone wanted me to post Massari, so here's some Massari, lol! Up for download is my fave song by him, Real Love, and a newly leaked song called Thinking Of You.

[EDIT]: I see I've posted an incomplete version of "Real Love". Sorry 'bout that - it's fixed now.

Cassie - Cassie [Stream]

You can now stream Cassie's self-titled album @ MuchMusic.com. The link's down there. You guys better pick up this album and support this girl! I know her whole album's almost leaked, but I'm lovin' her songs and I want her to make more!

Stream: Cassie

Christina Aguilera - Slow Down Baby [Radio Rip]

Another hot song by Christina. I was never really into her stuff, but this new album is sounding really good! Props to R&B Mansion for getting this track. One question though...is that really Tony Yayo? And is it really necessary to say "ft. Tony Yayo"? All he says is "Stop, slow down baby". Oh well, it's like Fergie on that track "Keep Bouncing" I posted a while ago.

EDIT: Yeah, I thought "Tony Yayo" sounded wrong...

Download: Slow Down Baby [Radio Rip]

Beyonce - Deja Vu [Single Cover]

A new cover for the Deja Vu single? I hope so, cuz this beats that white background with a bee on it, lol. Maybe she's reshootin' the video and making a new cover to go with it, I dunno.

Justin Timberlake [ft. T.I.] - My Love [Poor Quality]

Well, this song has been floating around and it's hot! Timbaland did his thing once again...I think he's probably my favorite producer this year! He turned my head to Nelly Furtado and made a JT song sound cool [SexyBack]. And he's doing it again on this song! I was hesitating to post this song because it's a poor quality track and there's a guy shouting "Atlantic Records for T.I. clearance" throughout the song. But since a HQ version hasn't come up yet, I'm posting this now.

A Public Affair Album Sampler

Some looped clips from Jessica Simpson's upcoming album A Public Affair are circulating. I'm excited for this record because I'm a huge Jessica Simpson fan. I'm still not sure how I feel about what I'm hearing here though. I haven't spent enough time with the clips yet and, well, they're just clips. You can sometimes misjudge a song just by it's clip. "B.O.Y." sounds like upbeat, retro fun (similiar to "A Public Affair") and the intro reminds me of "Stacy's Mom" by Fountains Of Wayne. "I Belong To Me" and "I Don't Want To Care" sound like they could have been on Nick Lachey's record. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm not saying that's a good thing. I've been trying really hard to like his record lately but everything sounds the same and there's only so much depressing divorce music you can take, you know? haha "If You Were Mine" is another slice of retro upbeatness...however, I don't know how I feel about it. To me this seems very much like a concept album similiar to Mariah's Glitter album. Laugh all you want, but once you got that Mariah's album was an 80s concept album, then it turned out to be a really good record. I've still yet to form an opinion about "The Lover In Me" and "Walkin' 'Round In A Circle." "The Lover In Me" sounds like it could have been on In This Skin and "Walkin' 'Round In A Circle" sounds like it was meant to be a country record but Jessica couldn't quite pull off the country sound. The only snippet I'm definitely in love with is Jessica's cover of Dead Or Alive's "You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)," which is one of my absolute favorite songs of all time. Also, before downloading, you should know these are not high quality clips. They're 64 kbs but they're good quality for being such low quality.

....and, because I love the original so much and I think *everyone* should hear it....

Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Stadium Arcadium

Amazon review: Four-year career hiatuses followed by sprawling double-albums could spell trouble for a band of the Chili Peppers' stature: consider they'd originally recorded enough for three discs. The restless, trouble-plagued outfit that helped break alternative rock into the mainstream with a potent fusion of punk 'n' funk in the '80s finds itself two decades on almost completely devoid of the former's energetic abandon, while the latter's effusive rhythms are considerably subdued over the course of this two-hour, 28-track collection. It's not so much that the Peppers have lost their muscular, often uber-macho edge as they have willfully tamed it in service of mature reinvention here. The mellower, often introspective, if no less potent pop ethos that characterized the crossover hit "Under the Bridge" blossoms fully here on tracks like disc one's "Snow," "Wet Sand," and the jazz-cool of "Hey."

The title track, "Desecration Smile," and "She Looks To Me" finds them venturing further into laid back pop ballad territory, while the tricky rhythms of "Dani California," "Charlie," and "So Much I" eventually kick into familiar top gear on the pop-savvy "Tell Me Baby" and hip-hop seasoned "Storm in a Teacup." It's not that there's a paucity of musical adventure here ("If" and "Animal Bar" finds them wafting into Floydish neo-psychedelia while "Make You Feel Better" seems to channel no less than Joe Jackson) but that it's delivered with a subtlety--and dare we say it?--tasteful musical restraint that's a stark contrast to the band's early, overly overt nature. There's perhaps too much mid-tempo simmering and reflection going on; like most double-albums it could be focused into a much more compelling single disc. But that seems largely beside the Peppers' hooks-over-histrionics point here: an unlikely record to kick back to, and one that both challenges assumptions and eases the band into middle age with an oft languorous, if undeniably savory groove. Shakira - Oral Fixation 2 (and more!)

Amazon review: The English-language Oral Fixation Vol. 2 finds Shakira reclaiming some of the bite she showcased on 1998's smashing Donde Estan Los Ladrones? The Colombian rock goddess is making up for lost time: this is her second disc of new material in 2005. It's quite a feat, considering the four-year gap since Laundry Service, her scattershot, English-language debut album. Oral Fixation Vol. 2 is more mature and better focused than the spin-cycle pop of that 2001 disc. Kick-off track "How Do You Do" starts with a haunting reading of "The Lord's Prayer" before launching into a risky questioning of faith and religion. Shakira touches on the highs and lows of celebrity on a trio of tracks--the bittersweet "Your Embrace," the guitar-driven "Costume Makes the Clown," and the disco-fied, politically charged "Timor." Selfish men and failed relationships--two oft-mentioned topics of interest--anchor much of Oral Fixation Vol. 2. First single "Don't Bother" is a bitter ode to strength, jealousy, and survival; "Dreams for Plans" is a wistful collage of relationship memories; and Carlos Santana slides a sexy guitar riff under soulful standout track "Illegal." The purple haze of Prince hangs over "Animal City," one of the disc's most inventive moments. It's a free-wheeling melange of rock riffs, electronic accents, mariachi horns and confident vocals. Two songs from Fijacion Oral Vol. 1 make appearances--the somber "Something" and "The Day and the Time," which improves greatly upon its Spanish counterpart. Vol. 1, while at times enjoyable, was a portrait of a gifted artist struggling to keep her footing and retain her confidence. Oral Fixation Vol. 2 finds Shakira embracing the eclectic beauty within. It's a wonderful sound. Try here

Led Zeppelin

Good to know: The story of the top rock band that got its name when drummer Keith Moon predicted how the band would go over with audiences after hearing their demo tapes. Led Zeppelin's first album reached number 10 on the charts in 1969, and their popularity continued to grow with each subsequent album. But they were among the most hedonistic of all rock bands, and their indulgences led to a series of tragedies that ultimately broke up the band. However, they rank second only to The Beatles in sales. Try here

Queen selected songs

Biography: In 1970 'Smile', the band formed by Brian May and Roger Taylor, had just lost its singer. Adding bass-player Mike Grose and vocalist Freddie Bulsara, they renamed the band 'Queen', and played their first gig in June. Grose lasted a month and was replaced by Barry Mitchell, who made it through to the end of the year. Bulsara, meanwhile, changed his name to Freddie Mercury. Mitchell quit in January and was replaced for one show by "a guy named Doug". When John Deacon succeeded him, the classic Queen line-up had been formed.

Deacon's first gig was in July 1971 and in the second half of the year, the band formed an agreement with the new De Lane Lea studio, to demonstrate the facilities for potential clients, in exchange for recording their demo for free. One interested party was Trident Audio Production, who then sign Queen. They spent the rest of 1972 recording an album, but still had no record deal.

In March 1973 the band finally signed to EMI, and released their first album, 'Queen', later in the year. The single 'Keep Yourself Alive' failed to be play-listed on Radio 1, but was picked up by the Old Grey Whistle Test instead. Popular reception was better than the critical response, and the band finished the year supporting Mott the Hoople on Tour.

1974 started with a brief but disastrous tour of Australia, but a first appearance on 'Top of the Pops', and the release of their second album, lead to their first headlining tour of Britain. They followed this with half a tour of the US under Mott the Hoople again, before illness brought them home. As the year continued, their punishing tour schedule continued to win them fans, without converting the music press.

The release of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' on October 31, 1975 was a turning point for the band. At first, the record company were reluctant to put it out, as it was nearly 6 minutes long, but enthusiastic support from Kenny Everett and a revolutionary promotional video took it to number one in the charts. It stayed there for nine weeks.

Over the next fifteen years, Queen established their reputation for extravagant live performances and studio albums full of their unique sound - loud, tuneful and almost operatic. They won awards for their songwriting, respect for their studio techniques and praise for their energy and showmanship in performance. They also provided the soundtrack for two films: 'Flash Gordon' and 'Highlander'.

Controversy arose in 1984 when the band played in South Africa, then still under Apartheid, which lead to them being blacklisted by the United Nations. However, the next year they were one of the biggest acts in the Live Aid concert for Famine Relief. This performance, regarded by many as the highlight of the night, firmly established them as a landmark in English Rock.

On November 23rd, 1991 Freddie Mercury announced to the world's press that he had AIDS. Exhausted after a long illness, he died the next day. The rest of the band released a charity single of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' in aid of the Terrence Higgins Trust, and followed that the next year with a Wembley Stadium concert celebrating his life.

The surviving members of the band continue to make music, both together and separately. In 2002, the group's greatest hits were turned into a stage musical,'"We Will Rock You' by Ben Elton. Critical reviews were, as ever, poor, but the production is a large commercial success.

Guns N' Roses - Lies

A fan about the album: GN'R Lies is Guns N' Roses second album, and was released in 1988. It consists of eight songs.

The first four songs are actually Guns N' Roses independently released EP "Live ?!*@ Like a Suicide." These songs Pre-Date the band's major label debut "Appetite for Destruction." The highlight of this half, in my opinion, is the cover of the Aerosmith classic "Mama Kin." All of the songs on this side are supposedly live, though Axl Rose once said that most of the songs were recorded in a home studio, and had a live track placed in the background.

The second half of the album is entirely made up of acoustic tracks, all of which were recorded in one day, with all the band members playing together (the music-video for "Patience" shows footage of the recording session). "Patience" was the most successful of the songs, and became a massive hit. The album however was plauged (or blessed) by controversy due to the song "One in a Million." The lyrics included racial slurs and "homophobic remarks," in the words of protesters. The controversy only fueled album sales however, as the album went on to sell over 5 million copies.

The album is a solid effort by the Guns. It has been certified as 5x Platinum, and it is one of my favorite albums. Try here

Guns N' Roses - Appetite for destruction

Amazon Review: A glimpse of the future, and not because of its huge influence and umpteen million sales. The poor-little-rich-boy protest "Out ta Get Me" intimates that Axl Rose's egotism and martyr complex were soon to grow bigger than his head; still, Appetite's night-train wreck of punk and metal sounds and sensibilities make it more than just an emblem of its time. Whether GN'R are dancing with Mr. Brownstone, penning a callow kiss-off letter to some chick named Michelle, or passing out on somebody else's sofa, this was and remains a savage journey to the heart of the American--or at least the Hollywood--dream. Lucinda Williams : "Essence" (HQ MP3, FULL CD) - MUST HAVE!

A RARE WORK OF TREMENDOUS BEAUTY - YOU MUST HAVE THIS CD!

This mournful, erotic album is my favorite of Lucinda Willams work. I'm not usually a fan of female singers who play guitar, but this lady is a real musician, a poet and an emotional magician. She writes her own music and lyrics - plays on her heartstrings, sings from her soul. Her rough but vulnerable, husky, cowgirl voice tells you all you need to know about late nights in bars, too much booze, cigarettes, and a long time looking - and longing - for that one guy.

Her songs are deceptively simple. Their power comes from her images, her delivery and the way the music supports the lyrics. "Lonely Girls," the first cut, sets the stage for the rest. The brisk, light melody, juxtaposed against her sorrowful wail, pushes the sadness deeper. Backup for the predatory "I'm Gonna Steal Your Love," beats like an excited heart. She drags out the words, savoring every anticipated pleasure. The slow, rocking instrumental to "I Envy the Wind," and her voice, almost breaking with sorrow as she tenderly, and with exquisite sensuality, describes the way the elements are free to touch the one she longs for, is painful to hear. The words to "Blue" create the most delicate and beautiful images of the color blue - that particular deep, purple blue that suddenly surprises the eyes and the heart in an ordinary moment. But the lodestone at the center of this amazing album is the pulsing, and obsessive "Essence," with a beat that drives her passionate lyrics of carnal cravings to a boiling point.

In between these heated cuts are tender, sad songs of lost loves. The last cut, " Broken Butterflies," is a personal message to a lover whose anger destroys beauty and love. All this is the stuff of lonely girls.

The music ranges from the whining, bleeding sound of country and western, to jazzy blues. Especially delicious are: the sultry openings for "Are You Down," and the sexy, staccato guitar opening for "Can't Put the Rain Back in the Sky," with it's organ echo, and. punctuated drum beat with a brushed whisper.

The only cut that seems out of place is "Get Right With God." Perhaps a little penance is necessary after these hot, lustful numbers. It's the most upbeat number on the whole album. Maybe we needed it.

1 Lonely Girls 4:02
2 Steal Your Love 3:17
3 I Envy the Wind 3:15
4 Blue 3:55
5 Out of Touch 5:30
6 Are You Down 5:28

8 Reason to Cry 3:44
9 Get Right With God 4:19
10 Bus to Baton Rouge 5:53
11 Broken Butterflies 5:40

Lucinda Williams : "Essence" (HQ MP3, FULL CD) - MUST HAVE!

Fiona Apple : "When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts" (HQ MP3, FULL CD)

FIONA'S SECOND ALBUM - GENIUS NEVER DIES!

One of my most favorite albums ever. Download and enjoy. And please share this slice of musical and lyrical heaven.

1 On the Bound 5:23
2 To Your Love 3:40
3 Limp 3:31
4 Love Ridden 3:22
5 Paper Bag 3:40
6 A Mistake 4:58
7 Fast as You Can 4:40
8 The Way Things Are 4:18
9 Get Gone 4:10
10 I Know 4:57

Fiona Apple, what a character. Between the softcore video, the awards show rebuke, and now for her second album concocting history's most ludicrous title (the full thing runs 90 words long), Apple is earning a rep as a world-class oddball. Which may be the case. In contrast to many of her faux eccentric contemporaries, however, this wolf in waif's clothing seems to be genuinely astray in the straight world. And Apple is the real thing in another way--as a talent. When the Pawn Hits picks up where her eye-opening debut, Tidal, left off.

With Jon Brion back in the producer's seat, the twosome concoct a heady, keyboard-heavy soundscape that perfectly complements the singer's assertive, dangerously sexy Nina Simone-meets-Chrissie Hynde delivery. Unforeseen embellishments color the arrangements, including the sinister carnival interlude in "On the Bound," the George Harrison-like guitar in "Mistake," and the drum solo (when's the last time you heard one of those on a pop album?) in "Limp." All Brion's enhancements are in service of Apple, who comes through with preternaturally confident expressions of insecure sentiments ("Change my mind, I can't decide, there's too many variations to consider") and cold-eyed accounts of recrimination and self-recrimination.

Cohesive, gutsy, and finely honed, When the Pawn Hits pummels any notions of a sophomore slump for 1996's most promising newcomer. A character, yes, but what an artist, too!

When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks like a King
What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight
And He'll Win the Whole Thing 'Fore He Enters the Ring
There's No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might
So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand
And Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights
And If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where to Land
And If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cuz You'll Know That You're Right

Within Temptation

Biography: Within Temptation was founded in 1996. Robert Westerholt, who had already found a singer (his girlfriend Sharon den Adel), started the band. In less than two months, they had been offered various contracts for a record deal. WT decided to sign with DSFA Records and things got started.

After signing to DSFA, things got rolling. The first album, 'Enter', was released in April 1997 and soon after that, WT already played Dynamo 1997. It was their fifth gig ever... After playing on Dynamo they got asked for quite a lot of other gigs and at the end of 1997 (November) they even did a two-week tour through Germany and Austria. Some other pretty big gigs followed, including Noorderslag. And Dynamo 1998 of course, where WT played the main stage, after playing the campsite in 1997. Around the time that they played this gig at Dynamo, they also released an EP called 'The Dance'. This was supposed to serve as a small treat to span the gap between Enter and a new record.

In 1999 WT decided to take things slow. After two years of performing and far too less breaks, they needed some time for themselves. So nothing really exciting happened except they finished their studies and their own studio became reality.

2000 turned out to be the year of major changes. The band received invitations to play at the major festivals in the Benelux countries. In December of this year the cd Mother Earth was released. Many Dutch professional music magazines voted this cd as their cd-of-the-month. Various album charts were topped and the number of fans increased heavily.

In 2001 Within Temptation did a lot of touring, both inside- and outside of The Netherlands. Besides a club tour of 40 'sold-out' concert halls, many festivals concerts were done. One of the highlights was a concert at the famous Pinkpop festival (100.000 visitors). Also concerts in Paris, Mexico-City and at Belgium Festivals were given. 2 cd-singles were released, Our Farewell and Ice Queen.

2002 became the year of the mass-breakthrough. The single Ice Queen reached the number 1 position in may charts, both in The Netherlands and in Belgium. The Album Mother Earth reached the Platinum status in The Netherlands and the Gold status in Belgium. In both countries TMF/MTV Awards were achieved. The band played at the major Festivals in the Benelux (Ozzfest, Lowlands, Dynamo, Rock Werchter, Pukkelpop, Parkpop), as well as in Germany (Rock im Park, Bizarre, Summerbreeze). In France Within Temptation toured the major cities (Paris, Lyon, Lille, Bordeaux, Toulon) with sold-out venues.

Besides Robert Westerholt (guitar) and Sharon den Adel (singer), Within Temptation consists of: Jeroen van Veen (bass guitar), Martijn Spierenburg (keyboards), Stephen van Haestregt (drums) and Ruud Jolie (guitar). Try here

Paul Oakenfold

VH1 Biography: Paul Oakenfold is the DJ, remixer, and producer who did more than anyone else to break house music in Britain during the late '80s. During 1987-1988, Oakenfold hosted a series of crucial club nights that introduced thousands of Brits to house music. Just a few years later, he helped push the new dance crossover into the charts by masterminding hit productions by Happy Mondays (among others) and forming one of the most successful dance labels of the 1990s, Perfecto Records. Even well over a decade after his emergence, Oakenfold remained, quite simply, dance music's most popular DJ.

Born in London in 1963, Oakenfold began mixing at the age of 16, and hooked up with friend Trevor Fung to play soul and rare groove at a basement bar in Covent Garden. He also spent some time in New York during the late '70s, working for Arista Records and soaking up the disco scene through Larry Levan's genre-spanning sets at the Paradise Garage. Back in England by the early '80s, Oakenfold worked as a club promoter and British agent for the Beastie Boys and Run-D.M.C. He continued DJing as well, and eventually ended up at the Project in 1985-1986, one of the first venues for house music in England. With Fung and another friend named Ian St. Paul, Oakenfold was introduced to the exploding club scene on the vacation island of Ibiza (near the coast of Spain) during 1987 and imported the crucial mix of house, soul, Italian disco, and alternative music later dubbed the Balearic style.

During 1988-1989, house music and the Balearic style gestated at several Oakenfold-run club nights (Future at the Sound Shaft, then Spectrum and Land of Oz at Heaven) before emerging above terra firma as a distinctly British entity. Oakenfold and Steve Osborne had been working with new dance converts Happy Mondays, and their production for the 1989 Happy Mondays single "(W.F.L.) Wrote for Luck" was voted Dance Record of the Year by the NME. The duo's production for the Happy Mondays' breakout full-length, Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches, placed them squarely in the vaunted territory of other new dance producers like Andrew Weatherall (who achieved similar success with Primal Scream's Screamadelica from the same year). Soon, major labels were lining up to have Oakenfold and Osborne remix their biggest pop stars, including U2, Simply Red, New Order, the Cure, Massive Attack, M People, Arrested Development, the Shamen, the Stone Roses, and even Snoop Doggy Dogg (some as Perfecto, the combination remix service and RCA-connected record label founded by the pair in 1990). The Oakenfold/Osborne team were nominated by BPI as Best Producers from 1990 to 1993.

By the mid-'90s, dance music had reached the mainstream of British radio and culture, with Oakenfold at the front of a new wave of globe-trotting DJs; he toured with U2 and supported live gigs by INXS, the Orb, Simply Red, Boy George, and Primal Scream. On Britain's ever-growing club circuit, he inaugurated the London superclub Ministry of Sound early in the 1990s and became a resident at Britain's other superclub, Liverpool's Cream, instead of taking big money for independent gigs. He also cut down his remix schedule to less than five per year, concentrating instead on the release of half-a-dozen mix albums, including several volumes in the Journeys by DJ series. Oakenfold left Cream in 1999, after which Virgin commemorated the occasion with the release of Resident: Two Years of Oakenfold at Cream. Perfecto Presents Another World arrived the following year. A monumental U.S. tour and the fresh Voyage into Trance appeared in early 2000, as did Swordfish: The Album, a soundtrack Oakenfold constructed for the sci-fi film of the same name. In 2002, Bunkka became his first album of new productions. Mix albums like Creamfields (2004) and Perfecto Presents...The Club (2005) appeared before his second production effort, A Lively Mind, landed in 2006. Try here

Lindsay Lohan : "A Little More Personal (Raw)" (2006, HQ MP3, FULL CD)

DON'T BELIEVE THE HATERS! THIS IS ACTUALLY GOOD STUFF!

A good album to sing along to, Lindsay's sophomore release is perhaps best downloaded (LEGALLY please :-) ) as individual tracks after you listen to clips online. A lot of the songs are mediocre, but the good ones are REALLY good. As in, I had them on REPEAT for weeks. The breakdown:

1. "Confessions of a Broken Heart": powerful retelling of her broken relationship with her father. Memorable chorus. 8/10.

2. "Black Hole": Very relatable "why did you change, we're not in love anymore" breakup-ish song. Some of the lyrics don't rhyme, which seems kind of like a lack of effort on the writers' part, and some seem cliche: "I don't need those sneakers or that money after all/I'll trade them for an old message you called." Average to kind of good--6/10.

3. "I Live For the Day": Catchy, uptempo rock-y song, one of my favorites. About wanting your ex back and also wanting him to pay for what he did. 9/10

4. "I Want You to Want Me": a cover. Personally, I think the vocals here are a tiny bit weak. 4/10

5. "My Innocence": I guess you'd call it a rock ballad? Again talking about her father. Like somebody else said, reminds me of Christina Aguilera's "Fighter" but slower and a little sweeter. Some of the lyrics are weak: "You took my innocence away/I never had a chance to/You broke me in with your mistakes" She never had a chance to what? 4/10.

6. "Little More Personal": If you think of this as a song about getting more real with her fans, it would have worked better as an intro to the album, because there aren't any really deep confessions that are personal on this song. But if you look more at the verses than the chorus, it seems to be directed at a love interest, and it works better that way. Also, some of the vocals on the verses don't seem to be as strong as they could be. Still not one of my favorites. 5/10

7. "If It's Alright": My absolute favorite on the album. It has haunting background music that I can't get enough of. It's about a breakup, the actual process of doing it, not the aftermath like most songs are. I love the accepting mood of the song: "We must have met for some reason...It wasn't a lie/It just wasn't right". Even if you hate Lindsay, if you're a fan of slightly darker pop/rock music kind of Kelly Clarkson-esque in style, I think you should give this a listen. A 10/10, hands-down the best.

8. "If You Were Me": Very catchy and fun to belt along to, but there's a few things that might make you press SKIP: her vocals are a little more like shouting than singing, and there's this terribly annoying background noise that reminds me of my phone ringing. It drives me nuts. Listen to a clip and decide for yourself whether you can take it or not. 5/10

9. "Fastlane": The chorus of this seems a little immature for Lindsay: "So don't wish upon a star/Cuz a star can only get you so far." The rest of it is better. 6/10

10. "Edge of Seventeen": cover of Stevie Nicks. I like it. Interestingly, the lyrics printed in the CD cover have extra verses that Lindsay's song doesn't include. 8/10

11. "Who Loves You": "Who-o-o-o-o, who-o-o-o-o (repeat 2x) loves you?" That's the chorus, and it's ingratiating. I often skip over this song completely. Ugh. Also, a little PG/PG-13 in content, with a swear word partially blanked out. 2/10

12. "Beautiful Life": Very nice power ballad kind of song. Shows she's thankful for her life but that there's a lot of pain in it too. Kind of spiritual--mentions God (interestingly, as a she). Most of the song is really excellent, although there's a little something about the chorus that bugs me. Like "Fastlane" and "Black Hole", it seems like a couple of the lines could have been improved. But overall, it's a great song. 8/10

I hope this helped. A must-buy if you're a die-hard Lindsay fan, of course, but for everyone else, you should give the clips a listen before you decide whether to shell out your cash for it.

Lindsay Lohan : "A Little More Personal (Raw)" (2006, HQ MP3, FULL CD)

Alanis Morrissette : "So Called Chaos" (HQ MP3, FULL CD)

ALANIS MOST RECENT STUDIO ALBUM - THIS ONES A WINNER!

It had been two years since Morissette released her 3rd studio album Under Rug Swept. In that time, she had met her fiancee Ryan Reynolds, so this cheery disposition made its presence felt in many of the songs she wrote for her upcoming record "So-Called Chaos."

The album found her in a more contented and relaxed state than ever, and her songs were brighter and happier than her more volatile works like You Oughta Know and Uninvited. The first single Everything was released to radio in the spring of 2004, and was met with mixed reaction. The Adult Top 40 gave the song good airplay, but mainstream radio and the top 40 stations were colder in their reception. As a result, the single became her lowest peaking song on the Billboard Hot 100 ever.

The album came out in May of 2004. Reviews were mostly positive, with many critics calling the album her most accessible and mainstream record since her landmark debut Jagged Little Pill. Still, some thought she had "sold out" for the sake of sales and radio play. The album debuted at #5 on the charts, selling 115,000 copies out of the gate. But it only spent a week in the top ten before falling down the charts at a very quick pace. Ultimately, the album sold 450,000 copies, making it her poorest showing to date for a studio album. The second single on the international scene was Out Is Through, which had a poor showing in the UK. The second American single was Eight Easy Steps, which, despite a creative music video, failed to revive interest in the album, which had already fallen off the Billboard 200.

Fiona Apple : "Extraordinary Machine" (2006, HQ MP3, FULL CD)

IS THIS HER BEST ALBUM YET? SOME THINK YES, I THINK NOT.

Fiona's best will always be "Tidal" but this one came pretty darned close.

Extraordinary Machine is the third album by American singer-songwriter Fiona Apple, released by Epic Records in the United States on October 4, 2005.

Produced by Jon Brion, it was originally to be released in 2003 but was later delayed several times by the record label without explanation, leading to speculation that a dispute had arisen over its commercial appeal.

The controversy surrounding the album and leaked recordings of the Jon Brion sessions were the subject of substantial press attention, as well as a highly publicised fan-led campaign to see the album officially released.

In collaboration with producers Mike Elizondo and Brian Kehew, Apple re-recorded the album over 2004 and 2005, and it was eventually released more than three years after the original recording sessions began.

As of April 19 the album had sold 462,000 copies in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan, which is below the sales of both Tidal (which sold 2.7 million copies) and When the Pawn (which sold 920,000). Prior to receiving a gold certification from the RIAA in January 2006 for shipments of 500,000 copies, it was nominated for the New Pantheon award, which honours "left of centre" albums that shipped less than 500,000 copies in the U.S. between July 2004 and October 2005.

Apple went on a three-week U.S. tour from November 22 to December 11 to promote the album, and from January 25 to March 5, 2006 she supported British band Coldplay on the first half of their North American X&Y tour.Apple is also scheduled to embark on her own headlining summer tour from June 20 to August 10, with Damien Rice and David Garza as her supporting acts for the thirty-five shows.
